U-11290: Restructuring of the Electric Industry in Michigan

Implementation Plans
of Consumers Energy and Detroit Edison

Consumers Energy and Detroit Edison filed retail open access implementation plans with the MPSC on June 30, 1998. In a March 8, 1999 Order in Cases No. U-11290 et al., the Commission adopted implementation plans for Consumers Energy Company and Detroit Edison that will allow other customers of those utilities to choose alternative suppliers beginning September 20, 1999.

Chronology

1.    The draft plans were superseded, first by the plans formally filed by the utilities on June 30, 1998 and then by the plans adopted by the Commission in its March 8, 1999 Order in Case No. U-11290 et al. The draft plans and public comments about them remain available on the MPSC web site, however. They have been retained for historical reference only, on a separate web page about the draft plans.
